Label night at Culture Box!

On May 26th we host our first label night at the infamous techno club Culture Box in Copenhagen. We have gathered old as well as new talent for this first night and it’s only the beginning, we have great things in stall for our future events..

TARTELET “CONTEMPORARY” ALBUM OUT IN JULY!

VARIOUS ARTISTS // “CONTEMPORARY”
Because everything is fleeting, transient and elusive, the past a blurry memory and the future nothing more than speculation, we’ve gathered 10 tracks by 10 artists that resonate neither the future nor the past, but the here and the now.

Tartelet ’Contemporary’ is an ode to the contemporary beat. 9 of 10 tracks were produced for this album, which revolves around a musical moment in time, the year 2012. From Kenton Slash Demon to Brandt Brauer Frick, James Braun to 2400 Operator, this is an eclectic cross-section of Tartelet artists who like to keep it current.

Ladies and gentlemen, please allow us to take you by the hand and open a revolving door into sweet, beat-driven oblivion.

Welcome to Tartelet Contemporary

Andrea Fiorito brings the funk on “Brother from another planet”

From the experimental techno of ā€œTesiā€, to the orchestral, Ā Argentine drama of his Get Physical debut ā€œProprio Tangoā€, and now ā€œBrother from Another Planetā€ on Tartelet, Andrea Fiorito is an artist who has made music his life’s work. Ā A native of Bari, southern Italy, Andrea recognised his own deep-seated creativity at an early age. From the age of 8 he developed his musicality, while the filmmaking diploma he received as an adult helped to hone his unique auteur perspective, both on film, and in sound. Andrea’s productions are a fearless combination of live instrumentation, minimalistic techno, and dissonant melodic elements that merge in unexpected harmony. His work process always begins with the kick drum, the track’s rhythmic heart, and the essence of body movement. His intricate arrangements bloom organically, creating extended melodic arcs that do away with standard 16-bar conventions. Through his work, Andrea is constantly seeking the penultimate marriage between acoustic and digital elements, using midi sounds, keyboards, and live instruments, developing each arrangement meticulously, over an extended period of time.

It wouldn’t be totally off the mark to call the Berlin-based Italian the quintessential Tartelet artist. In certain ways Andrea’s idealism and restless creative spirit mirrors that of the indefinable yet ever-present ā€˜Tarteletness’ of disparate but strangely similar artists like James Braun and Kenton Slash Demon. And this is down to more than just the 4/4. Andrea is, quite frankly, Tartelet’s Brother from Another Planet, he’s the Tango to the Copenhagen-based label’s CashĀ  -possibly even the RA to KSD’s ā€˜SUN’? Whatever the case may be, ā€œBrother from Another Planetā€ is a giddily kaleidoscopic beast of an EP that further cements Andrea’s already sturdy reputation as a preeminent mediator of organic yet minimalistic techno.

Out in February 2012
